2007 in Review A Ying - Yang · Jan 7, 11:25 AM by Gerard Tomko
Well as 2007 came to a close, I found myself struggling to make sense of a year that was, well…......a Ying Yang. A Ying, Yang is some good and some bad. We had some great weddings, and some incredible couples, however, it found me faced with something I never dreamed of as I sat here in 2006 looking forward to 2007 . Yes as most of you know I had major surgery in August for stomach cancer. Thank God, everything is going to be fine, and I am MORE THAN ON MY WAY TO A COMPLETE RECOVERY! But this blow to me and my family brought out the best and really the WORST in some people. To all my couples and their families, whose compassion, understanding, well wishes, prayers have made my recovery and future brighter, I cannot thank you enough. I never knew how much of an impact I have made on your lives, just by doing something that I really love to do! You have shown me the importance of friendship; more than just a client/photographer relationship. The prayers I recieved from you though, I am going to pass on to the “select few” ( and you know who you are!) who have lost site of the big “picture”; those of you who have spread nasty rumors about my health, the photographers who have used this “little bump of mine” and tried to use it to your advantage, the “opera singers” who all you know is “me, me, me”, YOU are all the ones who need the prayers, not me – I am going to be fine! I just never realized how cruel some people can really be!
OK ON TO 2008 AND I WISH NOTHING BUT THE BEST FOR ALL! We have a real exciting year coming up, including not one but TWO weddings in Cancun! Team Tomko cannot wait to make this year a very exciting one! Stay tuned for my Best of 2007 Video, – as Dickie V would say – “It’s AWESOME Baby!”
